Special Session

Algorithm Performance Optimization on Parallel Architectures

Organized by:

Nicolas GAC, Laboratoire L2S (Supélec/CNRS/Univ Paris Sud), Gif sur Yvette (91) , nicolas.gac@lss.supelec.fr
Mihai IVANOVICI, "Transilvania" University of Brasov, mihai.ivanovici@gmail.com

Due to the unprecedented speedup of the latest technology capabilities, various multi-core, multi-processors and hybrid systems (e.g. CPU + GPU + FPGA) are currently available. They allow for boosting the computational power required by applications, thus speeding up the performance of algorithm implementations. Faster or even real-time applications are required in many domains like signal and image processing for medical applications (e.g. CT), or bioinformatics and biochemistry, where the fast response may be vital for human being life. In this session we discuss the latest improvements in algorithm design and parallel implementation on various platforms.

The special session is addressed to but not limited to the related topics:
  • Parallel implementations of signal and image processing algorithms,
  • Parallel implementations of bioinformatics and biochemistry algorithms,
  • GPU and FPGA programming for signal processing and bioinformatics,
  • Parallel algorithm design for signal processing and bioinformatics.

Submission procedure and deadlines are the same as for the regular papers.
